IT WAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS

Christmas eve is here. The kitchen is buzzing with cooking. Frank and Dean Croon in the living room. The tube hi-fi and Christmas lights are glowing ever so brightly. Soon it will be time to sit on the comfy two tone red and white early 1960's sofa and have a relaxing beer. This is a beautiful night rich with the dreams only a Christmas dreamer knows.

Here are some images taken from outside the living room window. On the outside looking in at the Christmas lights.

Merry Christmas everyone - from a cute little Australian home built in 1964.

Cant resist a few more Christmas images......

Compulsive Retro Christmas disorder? Humbug - there's no such condition!!!!!!!!!! :)

The Space Age Christmas continues..........

Two days before christmas. Soon it will be time for the big day. Retro Christmas music, unwrapping of presents, loads of champagne, not to mention the actual lunch itself. You can't but help to get more than a little excited. I have a Christmas concert mass at work tomorrow. For the first time I will be singing carols at work. I haven't sung in front of my fellow education staff before. None of them know that I used to be a professional singer signed to various record companies for a decade. It's been a long time since I sang in public. So I'm a little nervous about the whole singing thing tomorrow. Lets see how we go. It's all for the spirit of Christmas and for making a contribution. I guess this is a magical Christmas for me in more ways than one. Here are more pictures of a retro styled christmas at our home this year.

SPACE AGE CHRISTMAS PART TWO

More pictures of decorations for your enjoyment! Yes the tree is a vintage 1960's 6ft silver aluminum tree made in Australia.

A SPACE AGE RETRO CHRISTMAS 2009

Retro Christmas would have to be one of my MOST favourite subjects. In our home it takes on the dimension of a near psychedelic experience. Reflective tinsel dreams maximized with multiple sets of flashing lights. Strings of red lights snake up the wall and pulsate around the lower ceiling in our living room. Everywhere you look you see a vintage retro Santa. Pixie, Bauble or some such object of the most decorative festival in the west. Our home is a little different in that the decorations which come out to play each December are a good forty or more years of age. Some of the tinsel is new though some of it does date back to the nuclear era. Plastic holy and ivy abounds. Christmas in our home is space age retro nirvana. Come on; come on over for a brandy and dry or an eggnog served in stylise retro glasses.

Have a great Christmas.
